Description of the Position
- Accept cash, checks, credit cards, vouchers, or automated debits as payment.
- At the start of each shift, count the money in the cash drawers to check that the sums are right and that there is enough change.
- Calculators, cash registers, and optical price scanners are used to establish or identify pricing for goods, services, and admissions, as well as to tabulate money.
- Check checkout stations to make sure they have enough cash and are properly manned.
- Keep a running tally of the amounts and numbers of transactions on a regular basis.
Job Description
- Understanding of how to handle money and other negotiable items.
- Basic math skills are required.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions.
