Description of the Position

  • The Supply Chain Management (SCM) Officer is a middle management job responsible for day-to-day operational decision making, reporting and analytics, SCM system and process execution, daily/weekly/monthly target achievement, and SCM team development. The SCM Officer will be a quick learner with evident leadership qualities, a sharp eye for detail, and strong analytical abilities.
  • The SCM Officer will oversee the entire operational tasks of the given location under the direct supervision of the SCM Managers. Among the primary areas of responsibility are:
  • Allocations and replenishment
  • Management & Development of Personnel
  • Budgeting and cost-cutting
  • Stock Control & Turnaround
  • Data mining and analytics are two terms that are often used interchangeably.
  • Before a confirmatory appraisal and deputation, the SCM Officer will undergo intensive training for six months, primarily in technical areas.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Reporting directly to the SCM Manager, leads the day-to-day operations of the designated location.
  • By coordinating and syncing the activities of the SCM logistics team about the plans, executes and assures the implementation of the plans/processes on the ground.
  • Collaborates with the SCM Department's leaders and takes part in the planning, developing, and executing of the department's goals.
  • Drills down to the SKU level for each WH part of the allocated site, ensuring that the Details Floor Walks Scores are consistently above 95%.
  • Develops powerful, data-driven analytical reports and recommendations for improving SCM processes and controls over time.
  • Analyzing, compiling, and sharing business data leads the WH Team leaders in reaching the WH Sectional targets daily. Ensures that Team leaders and Section Incharges receive comprehensive technical and behavioural training.

PLAN FOR TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

  • A six-month rigorous training program will be held. Candidates will be evaluated on their progress every month before moving on to the next step. The training will be divided into four phases, with weekly evaluations and feedback:
  • PHASE 1 (1 week): Orientation to the SCM team, Category team, Operations team, and Head Office Functions.
  • PHASE 2 (two months): Rotation between SCM's many roles and locations.
  • PHASE 3 (3 weeks): acquainting yourself with the store's operations (1 week as CSA & 2 weeks as Receiver).
  • PHASE 4 (3 months): In-depth instruction at the appointed location.
  • Throughout the training phases, the candidate will be watched and evaluated regularly. After passing the exam, the candidate will be allocated to the SCM location (s).

Job Requirements

  • To work in business management, you must have a bachelor's degree.
  • Should be able to work with numbers in minute detail and have sharp analytical skills.
  • Strong mathematical talents are required, particularly the ability to manage large amounts of corporate data, evaluate it, and make appropriate decisions based on it.
  • Must be able to use Excel at a starting level, ideally at a medium level.
  • Because there will be many travelling to stores and warehouses, a bike/scooter driver's license is required. It is preferable to have a bicycle or scooter.
  • Must be self-motivated and willing to put in long hours throughout the training phase (up to 10 hours a day, depending on the training phase).
  • Should be a natural leader with a lead by example/doing approach. Will be expected to lead a rapidly expanding staff.
  • Must be able to lead a group of young subordinates, particularly in technical matters.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills are necessary.
  • This position requires excellent follow-up and timeliness on daily duties.
