One Major Side Effect of Eating Bananas Every Day, Say Experts

The simple fruit has a complex payoff.

Every day, eat a banana to keep your gut health in control. So it's not exactly a catchy rhyme or a well-known proverb, but it's accurate. It's all about what bananas do for your gut regarding the benefits of eating them every day.

According to nutritionist Heather Hanks, bananas are one of the few foods that contain prebiotic fiber, which is "a form of fiber that 'feeds' the good bacteria in your stomach," according to nutritionist Heather Hanks.

Prebiotic fiber has a long list of advantages. Hanks says, "The nutrition can help improve your immune system, maintain blood sugar levels, and keep your weight down."

She also mentioned a 2011 research in which women who ate a banana daily reported reduced gastrointestinal bloating. The beneficial bacteria in your stomach do miracles!

"The authors noticed that eating bananas may help healthy women with undesirable weight gain," Hanks says from the same study. As a result, eating bananas not only benefit your health but can also help your weight-loss efforts.

It's essential to have a healthy stomach!

Rachel Fine, RD, CEO of To the Point Nutrition, explains why gut health is essential. Banana fiber "supports intestinal regularity," according to her.

Elizabeth Ward supports this claim; MS, RD. Ward claims that she eats a banana every day. The most significant advantages of the fruit are the "feeling of fullness" and the high potassium level, which can help keep blood pressure under control.

One banana contains enough potassium to account for 10% of your daily consumption, so eating bananas regularly will help you get the right amount of nutrients.

Potassium helps proper muscle action and regulates fluid balance, according to Omiete Charles-Davies, a medical practitioner and founder of One Doctor.
