This interesting bonus will appeal to even non-coffee drinkers, including men.

We don't need to give you any more reasons to adore coffee, but this one is potent like your morning brew. A board-certified dermatologist just revealed a big cosmetic benefit that comes with a nice cup of coffee—and it applies to both men and women.

Coffee is the most consumed beverage on the planet, second only to water. Recent studies have discovered a plethora of reasons to bring your mug closer to your lips. Coffee is good for your liver, for your longevity, and even for your plants. Getting the appropriate nutrients is a crucial part of having good skin and hair. Pinkvilla recently mentioned how coffee could help your hair—especially when consumed in a certain way.

We asked Lisa Pfingstler, M.D., a board-certified dermatologist if coffee is good for your hair. It turns out that it may be even better than you thought for maintaining healthy and attractive hair.

Coffee lends itself well to topical application.

Coffee-Scrub-Mask

You may have heard that coffee is beneficial to one's skin. Coffee, according to Pinkvilla, can help fight dandruff, nourish hair from the inside out, and even improve hair thickness when applied topically to the hair and scalp—right, that's like a coffee-ground hair mask! Could this be true? Continue reading...

There's a scientific explanation for why coffee is excellent for your hair.

Drinking-Coffee

Pfingstler claims that coffee applied topically to the hair and scalp resulted in a "decrease in hair loss and improvement in thickness and strength" in some experiments. So, how's that for a perk?

She then goes on to explain why this is the case!

There's an interesting reason why coffee is excellent for your hair.

"Studies have shown that caffeine passes the skin barrier quite rapidly and easily, making it perfect for topical usage," explains Pfingstler. She says that the coffee can work in the hair "for 24 hours" after application.

There are two ways to use a coffee hair mask to add thickness and strength to your hair.

Coffee

Pinkvilla provides two recipes for building your own coffee-based thickening hair mask.

To make the first, combine three tablespoons of coffee grinds, one tablespoon almond oil, and one aloevera gel.

Alternatively, combine three tablespoons of coffee grounds with one tablespoon of coconut oil and one tablespoon of plain yoghurt in a blender.

According to the outlet, allow your all-natural hair and scalp mask to rest for 20 minutes before washing.

Is it just us, or does this seem like a summer beauty recipe you should try at home?
