According to a new study, drinking tea may help reduce the risk of cancer.

Tea

One recent study has shown that a specific type of tea can prevent painful kidney stones from forming. A new study now reveals that tea can protect against cancer that affects around 200,000 new people each year.

A study just published in the British Journal of Nutrition analyzed data of 25,000 males who took part in a more extensive investigation to investigate the impact of screening for prostate, lung, colorectal and ovarian cancer.

The participants reported their dietary habits, with medical diagnoses being cross-referenced over 11.5 years. Three thousand eighty-eight male participants were diagnosed with prostate cancer over that time.

Interestingly, the men who reported the most drinking tea exhibited "modest but considerably decreased risk" for prostate cancer than men who drank the least tea.

Even when researchers determined age and lifestyle, regular tea drinks exhibited the same benefit. "In conclusion, there was a slight favorable connection between drinking tea and a reduction in risk of prostate cancer among tea drinkers," the researchers say.

They see that the results are not enough for men who do not drink tea to fire the kettle.

This may, however, be a friendly reminder to take your annual check with September as the National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. You can also hear that if you are a tea drinker, you may be taking the benefit of antioxidants and other nutrients—not to mention the additional hydration from the cup that helps the body's system stay in balance.
