Rural Reconstruction Nepal (RRN) combined with Friends of Nature-FoN (consortium partner) has been chosen as the National Executing Agency (NEA) for the administration and execution of the USD 4.5 million World Bank-funded Dedicated Grant Mechanism (DGM) for Indigenous Communities and Local Communities in Nepal, as well as to fulfill the secretariat functions for the National Steering Committee (NSC) of the DGM Nepal. RRN as NEA seeks a qualified and experienced core team of experts and support staff to ensure successful implementation of
the DGM Nepal project with a specific focus on the detailed tasks and
responsibilities detailed below. Job Title: Junior Technical Assistant
(JTA) The post is allowed as a member of the team
for RRN’s ongoing project on Smallholders Empowerment by Entrepreneurship (in
Agriculture) Development in Dolakha, Nepal (SEED/RRN). This position is
required from mid of January 2021 to the other two years. The applicant should
be ready to be posted in the field (Dolakha). Job Description: 1.
Work closely with and under
the guidance of the District Field Coordinator in planning, developing, and
implementing all Income generating on and off-farm activities at the district. 2.
Assure timely preparation
of periodically/annual plan with targets, budget, and timeframe of the projects under the agriculture-related activities. 3.
Conduct a household survey
(food sufficiency) of the participant's beneficiaries/HHs. 4.
Carry out needs assessments
on training, seed supply, and promotional activities and collect and clean data
from the field and enter data into the database. 5.
Ensure the active
participation of poor women, girls, minority, ethnicity & socially excluded
groups and disaster-affected people in the activities. 6.
Conduct focus group
discussions and meetings with organized farmers groups on the performance of
the project. 7.
Conduct field
demonstrations, field days, training for farmers and stakeholders. 8.
Facilitated the development
of training manuals and promotional material for awareness generation. 9.
Manage database and
records on project activities and achievements. 10.
Review and verify data and
statistics to ensure the quality and validity of results and analysis. 11.
Support to manage the
timely supply of inputs with improved technologies and skills to farmers
groups, self-help groups. 12.
Ensure effective &
timely implementation of approved activities and reports from field/
communities. 13.
Prepare the monthly,
quarterly and annual progress reports and submits to DFC. Educational Qualifications and
